I recently installed a fresh install of Windows 8.1 Pro Retail. Then upgraded to Windows 10 Pro.
After the upgrade 2 or 3 days later I received an error on my desktop that indicated that my System32\user\desktop\PROFILES were not accessible. I may be able to post the complete error but this has been an issue using my Android devices and I don't have another system to use at the moment.
I did find a way to power it down because I have a desktop link in the task bar, I used system config and check the box for safemode then unchecked it. Because of the non change I was still asked if I wanted to restart, I did so, then from the lock screen I powered down and disconnected the AC. I found that if I go through this process I can log in. The first thing I did was set up a second Administrator and set up a Microsoft Account for it. That may have been the wrong thing to do but I wanted an option to access the system if I needed to.
All of the post for thus issue go bock to Vista, Windows 7, & Windows 8.0. Windows 8 1 and 10 are a very different system almost from the UEFI and up. All access to the internals would be from the GUI or installing the DVD and accessing do from here.
I have read the last book that Ed Bolt wrote., I have to make the assumption that out of 1000 new scripts there must be something the would work to repair the local\app\profiles for the first run admin.
I must add that I have been very unsuccessful using powershell. I stumble everytime I begin setting up the beginning Security to run the scripts. Since this is not a domain system, and setup as a private workstation I don't see the need or reason to run them as Remote Exacutable.
Is there anyone who would be willing to work with me on this.
After buying 5 books that cover from 2.0 to 3.0. Reading as many powershell newsletters as I can
I just don't have the time many to chance really messing up a system just reinstall a backup.
So any help would be so very appreciated.
Thank you.
